Materials and Publications

AUSA’s Family Programs Directorate offers numerous helpful publications for military families covering topics such as deployment and reunion, parenting, and financial planning. We also have a small selection of prints celebrating the Army family.

Publications and other materials are made available to military personnel and their family members as a courtesy by AUSA’s Family Programs Directorate on a first come, first serve basis. Every effort is made to meet requests but there may be circumstances where certain items are unavailable. You will be contacted by one of the Family Programs staff if this should happen. Please Note: We are unable to provide large quanitities of materials to supply units.

To request publications and other materials please download, print and fill out our publications request form and return it by mail to AUSA Family Programs, 2425 Wilson Boulevard, Arlington, VA 22201 or fax it to 703-236-2926. You may also send an e-mail to familyprograms@ausa.org. Please include your contact information and a mailing address as well as the quantity of each item you are requesting.

AUSA Family Programs Resource Packets
Resource packets contain a number of publications and information about services and programs on selected topics of importance to military families, and include several of the titles listed separately below.

Quantities are limited and we may substitute publications as necessary. We recommend that you maintain this information for reference in your resource library. If, upon viewing these resources, family members would like to receive their own copies of specific publications we will be happy to fulfill their individual requests.

Active Duty Packet (Limit of five (5) per request)
Predeployment, deployment and reunion resources for Active Duty Army families. Several of the titles listed below are supplied in this packet, including "Stress in the Military Family," "Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Moves"; "Adjustments Ahead: Serving Your Country in Someone Else's Country"; a copy of either "Called to Duty: A Practical Guide for Families" or "Deployment"; one of the titles covering Post Traumatic Stress Disorder; and one of the titles dealing with Reunion and Reintegration.

National Guard & Reserve Packet (Limit of five (5) per request)
Predeployment, deployment and reunion resources for National Guard and Reserve Army families. Several of the titles listed below are supplied in this packet, including the "Quick Series Guide to USERRA"; "Stress in the Military Family"; a copy of either "Called to Duty: A Practical Guide for Families" or "Deployment"; one of the titles covering Post Traumatic Stress Disorder; and one of the titles dealing with Reunion and Reintegration.

Military Survivor Packets (Limit of two (2) per request)
This packet provides information about the casualty assistance process, benefits available to military survivors, grief and counseling resources, and contact information for organizations supporting military survivors. This packet includes three of the Quick Series Guides listed below: "Casualty Assistance"; "Burial Benefits for Veterans and their Families"; and "Dependents Educational Assistance Program."

Wounded Warrior and Family Packet (Limit of two (2) per request)
Resources to help the families of wounded warriors understand the procedures for caring for wounded personnel, information about benefits, and links to support organizations. This packet includes two Quick Series Guides: "Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder" and "Stress Management for Military Personnel."
