Disney/Pixar and AAFES Save the Day for "Incredible" Sweepstakes Winners
|DALLAS - "Save the Day" was the theme for the 2004 Disney/PIXAR hit film, "The Incredibles," and 10 Army and Air Force Exchange Service customers believed that motto on May 25, 2005. Brig. Gen. Toreaser Steele pulled 10 winning names (photos of drawing available upon request) from thousands of entries for prizes provided by Buena Vista Home Entertainment. |
Dorothy Roy, national accounts manager for Buena Vista Home Entertainment, attended to present the prizes to AAFES. "It is our pleasure to be able to honor our troops and their families this way," said Roy.
Military service members and their families, stationed around the world, were eligible to enter the contest through their Exchanges during the DVD release of "The Incredibles," March 15-21. The prizes included five $2,000 Disney Visa Cards and five 17" HD LCD televisions. Entrants from Germany, Texas, Japan, Alaska, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Maine and Korea were among the lucky winners. One Air National Guardsman, who entered while deployed in Iraq, was surprised and delighted to receive notification of winning.
"AAFES' vendors partner provide the military community with quality merchandise while enhancing the quality of life," said Richard Sheff, vice president of Marketing and Advertising. "The Incredibles" is currently the number one selling video of 2005, and this is a great way to celebrate it and AAFES' 'best customers in the world.'"
