AUSA, its leaders and its members are torchbearers for the men and women of America's Army -- active duty, Army National Guard, United States Army Reserve, Department of the Army civilians, retirees, industry and friends of the Army.
Our Association, its members and leaders will:
1. Light the path to the future by highlighting Army plans and programs.
2. Participate in and influence debates and dialogue on America's Army today and in the future.
3. Illuminate the Army's accomplishments.
4. Sustain individual members by advocating issues of vital importance to each.
The Torchbearer campaign is designed to focus attention and action on the critical defense issues facing our nation as it enters the 21st century. Its messages are sent to the leadership of the United States Army, selected segments of the American public, members of Congress, key congressional staff and the administration.
Our challenge is to be heard. Through tools, such as the Legislative Action Center, outreach, publications and policy statements, we will be heard. A united AUSA will be the strongest advocate for our Total Army.
