Briefly describes Army Sustainability, an effort to use our natural resources so that they are not depleted or permanently damaged. As part of this effort, the Army is developing and implementing initiatives that address the "triple bottom line" of mission, environment and community. A sustainable Army simultaneously meets current and future mission requirements worldwide, safeguards human health, improves quality of life, and enhances the natural environment. It is essential to ensuring the Army is able to protect America's people, land, values and way of life for the foreseeable future.
